GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper peptide — three amino acids bound to a copper ion — that the body produces on its own. Circulating levels fall substantially with age, and it has been studied for its role in collagen production, tissue repair and skin remodeling. That is why it has become a common part of recovery and skin protocols. It is prescribed as a topical preparation or a subcutaneous injection. Human evidence is strongest for topical use on skin; evidence for the injectable form is more limited, and your provider will tell you whether it fits your goals.
Prices do not include lab work. You’re not charged until a licensed provider reviews your intake and approves treatment.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION+
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding peptide studied for its role in tissue repair, collagen production and skin remodeling. Compounded GHK-Cu may be prescribed as a topical preparation or a subcutaneous injection. Human clinical evidence for injectable GHK-Cu is limited, and it has not been shown to treat or prevent any disease.
Do Not Use GHK-Cu If You
• Are allergic to copper, to GHK-Cu, or to any ingredient in your preparation
• Have Wilson’s disease or another disorder of copper metabolism
• Are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
• Are under 18
Before Using GHK-Cu
Tell your healthcare provider if you:
• Have a current or past cancer diagnosis. GHK-Cu promotes tissue remodeling and new blood vessel growth, so its use has not been established as safe in people with active malignancy
• Take copper or zinc supplements, or a copper-chelating medicine such as penicillamine or trientine — these interact with copper balance
• Have liver or kidney problems
• Have eczema, psoriasis, or broken or irritated skin where a topical would be applied
• Take any other medication, supplement or peptide
How to Use
Use GHK-Cu exactly as directed by your prescriber and pharmacy. Apply topical preparations to intact skin only — avoid the eyes, lips, nostrils and any broken skin. For injectable preparations, rotate injection sites, never share needles or syringes, and never use medication that looks cloudy, discolored or contains particles.
Possible Side Effects
Topical use may cause redness, stinging, itching, dryness or peeling at the application site. Injection may cause pain, redness, swelling, bruising or itching at the injection site. Excess copper over time can cause nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, or a metallic taste.
Stop using GHK-Cu and seek medical attention for signs of a serious allergic reaction (rash, hives, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing), a spreading or worsening skin reaction, or signs of infection at an injection site such as warmth, pus or fever.
Storage
Follow the instructions on your prescription label. GHK-Cu is generally protected from light, and injectable preparations are typically refrigerated at 36–46°F. Keep medication away from children and pets.
